blackpeat

T&H Black Peat Moss contains 100% black peat or peat humus which is an excellent source of organic matter. Black peat is a very dense, highly decomposed, fine particle plant matter from sphagnum peat moss (H7-H8 in the Von Post scale of decomposition), collected from deeper layers of natural peat bogs. It has a dark color and a high density due to its wet and compact structure. Black peat may contain significant amounts of natural soil conditioners like humic and fulvic acids. Use of black peat in the substrate improves the buffering properties for water and nutrients.
